Duck a-dabbling.

Firsts' Yesterday duckling gave me a round of applause for being amusing. :)

I've now properly started my Christmas shopping.
Whoo me! Eek!
*frantic money transferring*

This time last year I'd started too and I was pregnant and sick and I'd already started playing Christmas music and films in a big hormonal search for happy Christmassy feelings. Think I felt Christmassy from late October till partway through January. Very strange.

This year I'm excited to start teaching our daughtr all about Christmas and traditions and ripping up wrapping paper.
This year Jon will have to do LOTS of the wrapping as I think it'd take me around a month with a nosey baby trying to help plus keeping scissors out of reach! It should be a lot of fun. :)

Well this snuggling a sleeping baby isn't getting the laundry out or the sitting room tidy

...but it's very sweet.

3 years ago today at this hour... :) well shortly Jon and I would be eating Chinese food in our wedding underwear so as not to get stains on our clothes, then we'd be off to our evening celebration. :)

3 wonderful years and I never thought it would be possible to be this much happier than I was then or to love someone as much as I love Jon today - I would have said that day held the epitome of love, which goes to show I don't know everything! I never thought I'd be lucky enough, 3 short years later, to be holding a sleeping little girl who looks so like her wonderful daddy and whose happiness shines from her, reflecting our own.

V. read this at our wedding. It made me cry then, it makes me cry now. Thank you, Jon, for sitting with sorrow and joy, mine and your own, for doing what must be done and still loving me and your sweet baby unconditionally. For understanding the world but still finding time and hope enough to look on the moon and dance with me.

Izzie has achieved front to back rolling!
Totally by accident but still!

12 weeks today! Good grief!
And at 11w6d - 1st time that toe finally made it into her mouth!

Last night was rough. Certainly not the roughest night Izzie and I have shared together but firmly in the top ten. She woke at 2 hour intervals, having been up for quite a bit of the previous 2 hours every time. she found it hard to go to sleep and as I got more and more tired my smooth mummy to cot technique slipped further and further from acceptable and made it harder for her to drop of and... well you see where his is going. I may have got a 40 minute stretch at one point but I don't think so - I think it was 20-30 minute bits of sleep. Urgh.

She's asleep now. Hopefully that will continue. Bugger, she's awake now. I do wonder if her being disturbed from her evening nap left her too overtired to sleep last night.

I want my mum and I need a break.

It's the weekend but Izzie doesn't seem aware that it should be a special, sacred time where mummy gets more sleep. :) 5 or 5.30am saw her giggling and squealing with delight (rather loudly) at her mobile, the cot bars, her own hand and the sheer joy of being alive, apparently! I gave up at 6.30 and brought her through so Mr. P could sleep a little more and we could pull faces at each other and play with the playmat. Purple giraffe rattle was very pleased to see us.

Some contracty goodness last night. Am going to go for a walk and see if I can get it to come back as it's buggered off AGAIN.

I haven't quite got the hang of this place yet but it feels like a little haven of calm and peace. Mmmm, peace... *drool*

Still waiting. Somehow posting here about it feels calm and just fine. Posting over on LJ feels more fraught. There is no stress here. It is the bubble bath of journals.
